Accumoli is a town of about 500 inhabitants in the northernmost part of the province of Rieti. Despite being so small, the municipality borders three other regions, namely Abruzzo, Marche and Umbria. The historic center of the hill town was heavily damaged during the earthquakes of 2016.

By car/Public transportation
By public transport: Accumoli is connected by various bus companies to Rome and the larger towns in the area. The company Cotral provides connections with Rome and with Rieti. The company START drives to Ascoli Piceno. Those who wish to go to L’Aquila use the company ARPA. The city has no train station.
By car: The city is located along the SS4 (better known as the Via Salaria), which connects Rome with Ascoli Piceno.
What to see in Accumoli
The most important historical buildings of the city are the Palazzo del Guasto (15th century), the Palazzo Marini and the Palazzo Cappello (17th century). The city tower (Torre Civica) was built in the 12th century. The oldest church in town is the Santa Maria Addolorata Church.
