Rome‘s 9th quartiere lies sandwiched between the Via Appia Antica and the Via Appia Nuova. Since the Via Latina cuts the district in half, it came to be called Appio Latino.
Appio Latino District Rome
The area has much to offer for tourists in Rome, since a good few of the monuments along the Via Appia Antica (Appian Way) can be found within its borders. Cecilia Metella’s Mausoleum, the Parco Archeologico dell’Appia Antica and the church O Domine Quo Vadis? can all be found here.
