Big Mama, which opened its doors in 1984, can be considered Rome‘s House of the Blues, thanks both to the number of concerts and the quality of the music presented.

History and description
Though most of the artists performing in Big Mama are Italian, several noted foreign artists have also strutted their stuff here. The music does not just consist of blues either: Jazz, world music, and rock have a big place in Big Mama’s programs.
Buying a yearly pass at the entrance will get you free access to most of the concerts played at Big Mama. For the bigger shows there is an extra fee to be paid and if you are only in Rome for a short period, like most tourists, there is an 8 Euro pass, which is valid for 30 days.
