Castello di Meleto

The Meleto Castle is situated on top of a hill and, like nearby Castello di Brolio, used to be property of the Ricasoli family for centuries (until 1968). The name ‘Meleto in Chianti’ is mentioned for the first time in 1269.

Tall cypress trees surround the castle. Th exterior is characterized by two round towers. Inside you can see frescoed corridors, loggias and pretty courtyards. There is also a theater dating back to the 18th century.

The castle has an enoteca (“wine bar”) and there is also an agriturismo attached.
