History and description
The Castello di Canobbia was constructed in the 12th century, by the Aldobrandeschi family.
In the 15th century, when it had been abandoned and fallen into ruin, it was transformed into a villa. The compex was given to the bishops of Sovana, who made it their summer residence.
In the 17th century, it was sold to private individuals.
The structure has now been converted into a farm. The southern part still retains some medieval characteristics.
