History and description

The Chiesa di Santa Maria degli Angeli is part of the San Pasquale Monastery in Vallaspra. The church was built simultaneously with the monastery in 1430 around an old pre-existing chapel. The builder was Fra Tommaso da Firenze.
From 1860, when the monastery became city property, a period of neglect began. This lasted until 1936, when the church regained its original function.
A cornice divides the facade horizontally into two parts. The lower part is characterized by the arch preceding the entrance. The upper part has a central trifora. At the highest point, there is a pediment with a small bell tower.
What to see
Points of interest inside the church are the columns, decorated with gilded capitals, the ceiling and the San Pasquale Chapel (right).
