Florence‘s most famous church is of course the Duomo, with its bell tower and the Baptistery. Santa Croce Basilica
The Santa Croce Basilica is a church in Piazza Santa Croce. This basilica is not only packed with works of art but also houses the mortal remains of none other than Michelangelo. There are frescoes by Giotto and father and son Gaddi.
Orsanmichele Church
The Orsanmichele Church is a former granary converted into a church. The House of God houses a number of sculptures by the most famous artists of the Renaissance period. Unfortunately, these are on the second floor, which is rarely accessible to tourists.
Ognissanti Church
The Ognissanti Church was built in the 13th century. The full name of the church is San Salvatore di Ognissanti. The main attraction is the fresco cycle by Domenico Ghirlandaio in the refectory of the corresponding monastery. The famous artist Botticelli is buried in the church itself.
San Felice Church
The San Felice in Piazza Church is located just south of Palazzo Pitti and has a façade designed by Michelozzo. The interior is still decorated with frescoes painted in the 14th century.
