The Corso Italia is the main street of Pisa and the most famous shopping street of the city. The most famous buildings lining the street are the Santa Maria del Carmine Church, the San Domenico Church and the Palazzo Gambacorti.

History and description
The street, which is lined with affiliates of the better known shopping chains, is, especially after 4 PM, populated with throngs of, mostly, younger people ambling back and forth.
The statue in front of the Santa Maria del Carmine Church depicts the famous sculptor Nicola Pisano.
The Palazzo Simoneschi (Corso Italia, n. 59) was built in the 17th century.
Even older is the San Domenico Church, which was constructed in the 14th, and renovated in the 17th century. Its as restoration took place some years ago.
The Palazzo Gambacorti (n. 58) is all the way at the end of the street, on the corner of the Lungarno.
