The main street of Chieti is the Corso Marruccino. Until around 1890, the street was still called Corso Galliani and included the Largo della Trinità and the Largo del Pozzo (now Largo Trento e Trieste and Largo San Gabriele Valignani). The name of the street derives from the people that used to live in the area before the Romans.
