History and description
The Gucci Museum was inaugurated on 28 September 2011, when the Florentine fashion house celebrated its 90th anniversary.
The museum is divided over three floors. The rooms are decorated according to certain themes.
In the “Travel Hall”, suitcases, bags and other accessories specially designed for the international jet set are on display. A second room is entirely dedicated to handbags designed by the fashion house over the years.
The “Logomania” room shows the development of the Gucci logo with the characteristic double G.
A highlight is the room dedicated to the “Flora” motif designed by Vittorio Accorenero.
Evening wear worn by famous actresses, such as the dress worn by Hilary Swank at the 2011 Oscar Awards, will also be on display.
In addition to the section of the museum dedicated to the fashion house itself, there is also a Contemporary Art Space dedicated to, you guessed it, contemporary art.
