History and curiosities

Il Sole 24 Ore (“The Sun 24 Hours”) is the major financial newspaper of Italy. The building housing its headquarters is situates in what used to be an industrial area. It is considered a prime example of sustainable modern architecture.
The new complex was built on top of an earlier existing structure in the Fiera district. The building containsm, beside the offices, a restaurant, a bar and two conference halls called Auditorium and Sala Collina. Before Piano went to work on the complex, it consisted of five rectangular blocks and a courtyard.
The building features 20 panoramic lifts and “green curtains” connected to sensors on the roof measuring weather conditions.
