The MACRO Testaccio – La Pelanda is situated inside the ex-Mattattoio (former slaughterhouse), one of the culturally most important and interesting complexes in Rome. It is the second seat of the museum.

History and description
In 2002 two of the buildings inside the ex-Mattattoio were given to the MACRO Museum of Contemporary Art.
La Pelanda consists of a 5000 m2 (the entire ex-Mattattoio is 105.000 m2) of exhibition space and is the result of an extensive restoration that took three years to complete.
The Macro Testaccio is only open when special events and/or exhibitions are taking place.
