History and description

The initial nucleus of the collection of the Museo Comunale was gathered in the 1980’s. The city of Nepi founded a depository for the archaeological artifacts that ran the risk of being stolen from the territory.

In 1992, an exhibition entitled “The Necropolis of Nepi” was organized. When the exhibition finished, part of the collection was moved to what was to become the Civic Museum.

Later the collection was enlarged, partly by ceramics found in the area nd subsequently restored, and partly by adding artifacts recovered from the Borgia Castle in Nepi itself.

In 2014, the collection was moved to the building next to the town hall.
