The Museum of the Duchy of Spoleto is spread out over two floors of the Rocca Albernoz in Spoleto. The museum was founded in 2007 and takes up 15 rooms inside the castle.

History and description
The Duchy of Spoleto was founded in 570, after the Longobards hd conquered this part of the country. The name was kept until the late 17th century.

The history of the Duchy is highlighted by means of sculptures, paintings and architectural fragments as well as epitaphs, priestly garments and other objects. The oldest objects date back to the 4th, the newest to the 15th century.
One of the oldest objects on display is the 5th century “Sarcophagus of the Good Shepherd”.
Before the museum was founded, the collection was on display in the Pinacoteca Comunale.
