History and description
The museum is divided into two sections. The first is the antiquarium, where a number of collections dating back to the 19th and 20th centuries are brought together. The objects on display here are mostly from Siena, Chiusi and its surroundings. The original collections belonged both to private collectors and to the city itself.
The second section is the Topographical section, where (the contents of) various tombs from the entire region are on display. These also come from other parts of the province, such as Murlo, Chianti and Val d’Elsa.
