It probably doesn’t surprise anyone that most of the sights in Assisi are churches. Still, there are some other attractions worth visiting.

Via San Francesco
The Via San Francesco is the main tourist street of Assisi. It leads to the Basilica of St. Francis and is lined with small stores where artisans sell their creations and with shops souvenirs. In addition to the stores, there are a number of other places of interest, including the Palazzo Giacobetti, the Oratorio dei Pellegrini and the Museo Civico.
The Roman Amphitheater of Assisi was built in the 1st half of the 1st century. It consists of two rows of, still partially preserved, grandstands. The Arena of the amphitheater today serves as a vegetable garden.
