The Rocca Albornoz was not the first fortress built in Orvieto, but it is the most famous one. Built between 1364 and 1370, it was continuously renovated and modified until 1435. After this it was destroyed. It takes up the eastern edge of the center and what remains of it now serves as a public park.

Aqueduct

The Aqueduct of Orvieto was built toward the end of the 13th century. Its task was to supply water to a number of fountains in the city, including the city fountain in Piazza della Repubblica. Over the centuries, hot aqueduct fell into disrepair and as early as the 17th century few fountains received their water through the monument.
