History and description

The Palazzo Asinari di San Marzano was built in 1684. The architect was Michelangelo Garove. The first owner was the Marquis Asinari di San Marzano, who had been given the terrain by the Madama Reale.
In 1964 the palace was purchased by Cavalier Silvio Turati, who turned into the headquarters of the Carpano Society.
Highlights are the balcony above the entrance and the atrium, which is decorated with spiral columns. The 19th century garden that used to part of the palace, had to be destroyed when the city layout was reorganized. The neo-Baroque structure replacing it was the work of Camillo Boggio.
The apartments inside the building were decorated to a design by Benedetto Alfieri.
