History and description
The Palazzo Marina was designed by a nephew of the famous Valadier, Giulio Magni. Construction began in 1912 and the palace was consecrated in 1928.
The Palazzo del Ministero della Marina was built at a time when, at the urging of the then minister Paolo Thaon di Revel, there was a push to expand Italy’s naval power.
Today the building serves as the headquarters of the Navy and as the central office of the Army and the Ministry of Defense.
