History and description

The Palazzo dell’Ospedaletto dates back the 14th century. It used to belong to the Templar Order before this was dissolved.
The building, which was dedicated to San Tommaso, has retained its original stone structure. Various elements referring to the Templars are still visible on the external walls.
These include an image of the Baphomet, a half-human and half-goat deity, supposedly venerated by the Templar Order.
The other elements are the Templar cross and a depiction of the Agnus Dei (“Lamb of God”).
