Ponte Mammolo is both the name of the 29th quartiere of Rome and that of the underground station in that part of the city. It is located in the north-eastern part of town.

The name Ponte Mammolo refers to the Pons Mammeus, a 5th century bridge over the river Aniene. When the tide is low some ruins of the tuff stone pillars of this bridge can still be seen along the Via Tiburtina. it was destroyed in 1849.
In Rome the area is best known for the Rebibbia prison.
Public transportation
From the metro stop Ponte Mammolo (line B) it is possible to take a bus to the city of Tivoli, where the Villa d’Este and the Villa Adriano can be found. The stop is located just south of the district itself.
