Apart from the daily markets there are also a number of special sunday markets in Rome. Some of these, like the famous Porta Portese flea market in Trastevere, sell everything imaginable, others specialize.

Antiquarian and flea markets

These are markets that are held almost every Sunday in Rome. Note that, during the summer months, when the Romans are all at the beach or on a holiday elsewhere, these markets are often closed. It is recommended to check the local newspapers to see whether or not the market of your choice is actually being held during your stay in Rome.
Porta Portese Market
Porta Portese: From Termini take either bus H or bus 75. Italy’s biggest flea market has it all, from antique(-ish) wardrobes to thimbles. Be prepared to haggle and be sure to watch out for pickpockets. (From 7AM till 2PM.)
Porta Portese 2
There is now also a Porta Portese Due, in the Via Palmiro Togliatti (metro line A to Subaugusta), according to many Romans better than the original one.
Garage Sale – Rigattieri Per Hobby
The Mercato di Borghetto Flaminio is held every Sunday from 10:00 till 19:00. Since, under the heading “Garage Sale – Rigattieri per Hobby” there are not only professional stalls one can sometimes run into unexpected finds, from old vinyl records to elegant evening dresses. Address: Piazzale della Marina, 32. There is a small entrance fee. Closed from mid-July to the end of August.
Piazza Verdi Market
Piazza Verdi: One hundred stands of antiques and collector’s items, held every 4th Sunday of the month (Free entrance, 9AM-8PM, +39 068552773).
Piazza della Balduina
Every first Sunday of the month there is an antiques market in the Piazza della Balduina (9 AM – 8 PM). There are 60 stands, some by local craftsmen. For information: +39 338 9657690.
Mercato Monti
Mercato Monti is an indoor market held three times a month, on the first and third Sundays and the fourth Saturday of each month. The market has a slightly English feel to it, with mostly vintage clothes and creations by young, modern designers. Opening hours: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Address: Via Leonina 46.
Ponte Milvio Market
The Ponte Milvio Market is held top the first and second Sunday of the month. More than 150 market stalls trade furniture and utensils, antiques and collectibles. From 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Piazzale Clodio
Piazzale Clodio: Antique as well as modern pieces of furniture (Free entrance, 9AM-7PM, +39 3389657690).
Campagnano
Le Bancarelle di Campagnano: or The Stalls of Campagnano, 250 stands in the center of Campagnano, just north of Rome).
Expo Capanelle
The Expo Capanelle market is held every Sunday at the Capanelle horse riding track. It’s a long way outside the center, but it’s free and the offerings are great. Original crafts and antique furniture, vintage clothing and modern design, old postcards and handmade jewelry. Address: Via Appia Nuova, 1240.

After Tea: Goa, inside a dance club, a small market titled “No market” accompanied by live music.
Micca Market: For the young and alternative crowd: Vintage clothing, vintage design, vinyl records and especially made, one-off jewelry, made by creative, young, independent designers. Held in the Micca Club, on Sundays only. Entrance is free, till the deejay starts playing.
