The San Biagio Church in Nepi dates back to the middle of the 10th century. The church was part of a monastic complex belonging to the San Ciriaco in Via Lata Monastery in Rome.

History and description

The San Biagio Church Nepi is first mentioned in 10th century documents.
It consists of a single nave.
The portal is framed by a wide bas-relief.
In the apse there are paintings from different eras. The oldest of these were painted in the 12th century.
On the left side of the presbytery, there is a tabernacle dedicated to San Biagio decorated with paintings from the 15th century.
In the crypt, there are frescoes from the 13th and 14th centuries.
Although the church has been restored many times over the centuries, its general appearance has not been altered.
