History and description

The San Giuseppe di Cluny Church was designed by the architect Luca Carimini. It is located on the grounds of the convent of the same name. Construction started in 1884 and was finished six years later. Consecration took place in the year 1900.
The most striking element of the church is the double staircase leading to the entrance, which is considerately above street level.
The apse is decorated with a mosaic depicting the “Ascension of Jesus between the Apostles”.
There is a reproduction of the Grotto of Lourdes in the crypt.
