History
San Simone del Carmine Church has existed since 1233, but has been rebuilt many times over the years. Some portions of the original medieval version can still be seen on the side along Via Abruzzo.
The adjacent Carmelite convent, built in the 14th century, was appropriated by the state in 1861 (after Italian unification).
Works of art
The organ dates from 1602 and is decorated with carvings.
