The Santissima Annunziata Church was founded in the second half of the 13th century, but its construction was only completed towards the end of the 14th century. Another century later, the first reconstruction took place.
Between the 17th and 18th centuries, the church, along with the monastery, which was run by the Servites of Mary, received a Baroque facelift.
A cloister (14th century), a monastery (16th century) and an oratory are part of the structure to which the church belongs.
What to see
Most of the paintings and frescoes in the church date from the 16th and 17th centuries.
The “Nativity” (Natività ) was painted by Lodovico Cardi, nicknamed Il Cigoli. It is the most famous painting decorating the church.
