Streets of Perugia

Although the most famous street of Perugia is the Corso Vannucci, many visitors will prefer wandering around the city’s maze of narrow alleys, which are more often than not graced with arches and other decorations.

The Corso Vannucci is Perugia’s main street. It connects the Piazza Italia to the Piazza IV Novembre, where the Cathedral and the Palazzo dei Priori are located. It is one of the few wide streets in the historical center and is lined with prestigious palaces, shops and restaurants.

Via Ulisse Rocchi

The picturesque Via Ulisse Rocchi leads from the Cathedral to one of the main attractions of the city, the Etruscan Arch. In some stretches so narrow that it seems no more than an alley, the street is covered by several elegant arches. Once through the Etruscan Arch, you have the university in front of you. There are several traditional restaurants and, inevitably, souvenir shops in the street. Ulisse Rocchi was a former mayor of Perugia.
