The district of Vomero is situated on a hill and offers a beautiful panorama of both Naples and the sea and of Vesuvius. The district is also known as a place of good shopping. Biggest attractions are the Castel Sant’Elmo and the Certosa di San Martino Museum.

The Castel Sant’Elmo is located at the top of the hill.
At the foot of the castle is the Certosa di San Martino, which houses the National Museum of San Martino. This museum has one of the most impressive collections of nativity scenes in the world. The garden offers a panorama of the Gulf of Naples.
When you are tired of shopping, you can take a break among the cypress and pine trees in the nearby Villa Floridiana park.

Via Scarlatti is the district’s pedestrian street, and several elegant stores and boutiques are located here.
The Antignano Market offers shoes and clothing, but there is also an indoor hall where you can buy fresh food. The fish stalls on the street are a sight in themselves.
