The Sestiere Dorsoduro is one of the neighborhoods on Venice‘s largest island. The district occupies much of the southern shore of the island. It is separated from the island of Giudecca, which belongs to the sestiere, by the Giudecca Canal.

Public transportation: the vaporetto lines 1 and 2 have stops along the shore of the sestiere Dorsoduro.
Zattere
Located along the Giudecca Canal, this former quay is characterized by beautiful waterfront views and atmospheric eateries. The Redentore Church across the canal provides additional atmosphere.
A major attraction is the Gallerie dell’Accademia, a museum with works painted primarily by Venetian artists.
The central square of Dorsoduro is the Campo Santa Margherita. Especially in the evenings and at night, this is a known spot for university students to meet and enjoy themselves.
The Giudecca Island, across the canal of the same name, is part of the district.
