The Villino Cagiati is an early 20th century building on the corner of the Via dei Gracchi en de Via Orsini in Rome‘s Prati neighborhood. It is characterized by art nouveau architecture.

History and description

The Villino Cagiati was built in 1902 under the direction of the architect Garibaldi Burba. Burba was an architect from Vicenza who was active in Rome in the years between 1880 and 1920.

The building has three floors and is characterized by a large number of terraces and deep loggias. It ends in a tower. The cornices of the balconies protrude relatively far.

The interior is graced by frescoes by Silvio Galimberti. Alessandro Mazzuccotelli was responsible for the cast-iron decorations, while the majolica adorning the exterior are by Galileo Chini.
